Passover Baskets & More!

Many of you may have started to feel Passover bearing down on us . . . cleaning, getting rid of chametz, and preparing yourself mentally to consume "bread of affliction."  The mild stress of the holiday notwithstanding, there are those in our community who are in real need of support this Pesach.
That's why Kadima will be volunteering our time on Sunday, March 17 at the JCC to help the Jewish Family Service of Greater New Haven assemble and distribute  Passover Baskets  to those in need.  Come any time between 9 am and 2 pm to help out.  All are welcome, but the enthusiastic and energetic (even on a Sunday morning) are particularly encouraged to join us.  Questions?  Let me know.

If you can't come on Sunday, don't worry -- there's another opportunity to do some tiqun 'olam next week.  On Thursday, March 21, Kadima will be making its monthly trip to New Haven's  Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen.  We need a few volunteers from 3:45 to 6:00 to help load grocery bags for the Kitchen's weekly food pantry.  And afterwards, we'll go out for pizza!  Last month, Kadimaniks put together over fifty bags in an hour.  Can we beat that record?  Those who would like to help out should let me know ASAP, as spots fill up!

Now before you think that Kadima is all community service, heads up!  Kadima is going  ROCK CLIMBING!  On Saturday-Sunday, March 23-24, BEKI-BJ Kadima will be joining other chapters from all over Connecticut and Western Mass for the annual  Kadima Overnight  at Prime Climb in Wallingford, 8pm-8am.  Registration must be sent in by March 18.  Questions?  Contact me (Steve) or our regional advisor, Wendy Rubin.

Lastly, for those who came out for Laser Tag last weekend, pictures will soon be available so check back soon.  (And a big thanks to Michael Braverman for providing transportation to CT Sportsplex!)
