Leadership Meeting & Steel Band Concert!
Did you think that January was half over already? Well, Kadima is just getting started -- we have three more Kadima events this month!
(1) This Thursday, January 17, 6:00-7:00 pm, we're holding our Leadership Meeting at Edge of the Woods. Pizza will be provided. This is for Kadima members only to sit down and talk about some ideas for Kadima events and projects (and eat pizza). Please RSVP by Wednesday night, so I know how much pizza to order.
(2) On Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day), 4:00-6:45 pm, we'll be attending a free MLK-Day Steel Band Concert. The folks over at Music Haven, a local non-profit that provides classical music training for at-risk students, have invited us to attend this concert honoring and remembering Dr. King and the struggle for civil rights in America. We'll meet at BEKI at 4:00 and drive over to St. Luke's Church (111 Whalley Ave.) together. This event is a great way to celebrate with others in the New Haven community, plus it's free and open to all. RSVP by Sunday night (Jan. 20) so we know how many will need a ride. (Chaperons/drivers needed! If you're interested, let me know via email.)
(3) Lastly, on Sunday, January 27, 12:30-2:30 pm, we'll be Baking Brownies which will be included in the Superbowl Deli Boxes, a fundraiser held each year by the BEKI-BJ Youth Commission. What better way to help raise money for Kadima programs than to bake (and maybe taste-test a few) brownies? Please RSVP by Friday, Jan. 25.
But wait! That's not all!
(4) Coming up on February 10, there will be a Kadima regional event. Brought back by popular demand: SNOW TUBING!! Come on out for some fast-paced, snow-laden fun while meeting other Kadimaniks from all over Connecticut and Western Mass! (Details, registration, and waiver forms are available on the Upcoming Events page of our website.) For more information, contact our regional advisor, Wendy Rubin (wendy@hanefesh.org). Registration is due by Feb. 8, but why hesitate?
